MATERIAL:
4 (4-5) skeins Sport Yarn (2 oz. skein) hot pink
1 (1-1) skein Sport Yarn (1 oz. skein) red
1 pair knitting needles each No. 2 and No. 4 or any size needles which will give stitch gauge given below
5 (6-6) buttons
2 stitch holders

GAUGE: 6 sts. = 1 inch

NOTE: Carry yarn not in use loosely on wrong side of work catching it when carried over more than 3 sts.

BACK:
   With No. 2 needles cast on 100 (104-108) sts, and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1 inch. Incr. 4 (6-8) sts. at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 4 needles and stock. st. With 104 (110-116) sts. work even until the entire piece measures 14 (14½-15) inch. or any des. length to underarm. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next 2 rows 6 (7-8) sts., at the beg. of the next 4 rows 2 sts. Decr. 1 st. at each end of every other row until 82 (86-90) sts. are left. Work even for 7½ (8-8½) inch from the first binding off. Bind off for shoulders at the beg. of the next 4 (8-6) rows 13 (7-10) sts., rem. 30 sts. (all sizes) bind off for neck.

LEFT FRONT:
   With No. 2 needles cast on 58 (60-64) sts. and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1 inch. keeping the 6 center front sts. in garter st. for border throughout the entire front. Incr. 4 (4-6) sts. at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 4 needles and stock. st. With 62 (64-70) sts. work even until the entire piece measures like back to underarm. Bind off at armhole edge at the beg. of next row 6 (6-8) sts. and at the beg. of the next 2 rows at same edge 2 sts. Decr. 1 st. at armhole edge twice (all sizes). At the same time decr. for neck 1 st. at center edge inside the 6 border sts. every 3rd row un­til 26 (28-30) sts. and 6 border sts. are left over and at the same time after 4 neck decr. are completed start arrow pattern at armhole edge.
1st row: K8 (10-12) pink, attach a small ball of red, K 1 red, with pink K to end of row.
2nd row: With pink K6 for border, P to red st., P1 red, P8 (10-12) pink.
3rd row: K7 (9-11) pink, K3 red, with pink K to end of row.
4th row: With pink K6 for border, P to red sts., P3 red, P7 (9-11) pink.
5th row: K6 (8-10) pink, K5 red, with pink K to end of row.
6th row: With pink K6 for border, P to red sts., P5 red, P6 (8-10) pink.
Repeat 5th and 6th row in established pattern until arrow measures 1 inch. Start 2nd arrow as follows:
1st row: K6 (8-10) pink, K5 red, K5 pink, K1 red, with pink K to end of row.
2nd row: With pink K6 for border, P to red st., P1 red, P5 pink, P5 red, P6 (8-10) pink.
3rd row: K6 (8-10) pink, K5 red, K4 pink, K3 red, with pink K to end of row.
4th row: With pink K6 for border, P to red sts., P3 red, P4 pink, P5 red, P6 (8-10) pink.
5th row: K6 (8-10) pink, K5 red, K3 pink, K5 red, with pink K to end of row.
6th row: With pink K6 for border, P to red sts., P5 red, P3 pink, P5 red, P6 (8-10) pink.
   Cont. to work in established pattern until large arrow measures 4 inch. Break off red and finish with pink only. Work as high as back and bind off for shoulder at armhole edge 13 (7-10) sts. 2 (4-3) times. Rem. 6 border sts. work even for 2 (2¼-2½) inch., slip sts. to a holder.

RIGHT FRONT:
   Work as for Left Front reversing all shapings. Work 5 (6-6) buttonholes evenly spaced apart in front border, placing first buttonhole ½ inch from beg. and last one 2 rows below V neck shaping. (To make a buttonhole: K2, bind off 3 sts., K to end of row. On next row cast on 3 sts. over the 3 bound off sts. of previous row.) At the same time after 2 inch. above ribbing start arrow pattern at center edge.
1st row: K39 (41-47) pink, attach a small ball of red, K5 red, K3 pink, K5 red, K10 pink (all sizes).
2nd row: P10 pink, P5 red, P3 pink, P5 red, P33 (35- 41) pink, K6 for border.
   (Cont. to work this way until first arrow at side edge measures 3 inch.
1st row: K39 (41-47) pink, K5 red, K4 pink, K3 red, K11 pink.
2nd row: P11 pink, P3 red, P4 pink, P5 red, P33 (35-41) pink, K6 for border.
3rd row: K39 (41-47) pink, K5 red, K5 pink, K1 red, K12 pink.
4th row: P12 pink, P1 red, P5 pink, P5 red, P33 (35-41) pink, K6 for border.
   This finished first arrow. Cont. to work until 2nd arrow measures 4 inch.
1st row: K40 (42-48) pink, K3 red, K19 pink.
2nd row: P19 pink, P3 red, P34 (36-42) pink, K6 for border.
3rd row: K41 (43-49) pink, K1 red, K20 pink.
4th row: P20 pink, P1 red, P35 (37-43) pink, K6 for border.
   Break off red and cont. to work in pink only revers­ing all shapings and omitting top arrow pattern of Left Front.

FINISHING:
   Sew shoulder seams. Weave neckbands tog. and sew to back of neck. Armband: Right side facing you pick up with No. 2 needles 84 (88-92) sts. around the armhole and work in garter st. for 6 rows. Work other armband to correspond. Bind off loosely. Sew up side seams. Sew buttons in place and block to size.
