Size 12 to 14 yr. — Scale: 6 ½ sts to 1 in.

1 Pr. Standard No. 2 Needles—14 in.
1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles—14 in.
Jack Frost Sport Yarn or Heathertone—3 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 96 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 2 ½ in. Change to No. 4 Needles and work even in stockinette st until piece measures 7 in. from ribbing or desired length to underarm. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of next 2 rows for underarm, then 3 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows. Work even until piece measures 8 ½ in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows. Change to No. 2 Needles and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, on remaining sts for 7 rows. Bind off loosely.

FRONT: Work to correspond to back to underarm. Bind off for underarm as given for back, then divide work as follows: (right side) K 34, place on st-holder. On remaining 34 sts, work 2 rows even; keeping armhole edge even, decrease 1 st at neck edge on next row and every 3rd row thereafter until 15 sts remain. Work even until piece measures 8 ½ in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 5 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND—With No. 2 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 62 sts from shoulder to point of V, 1 st at point of V, and 62 sts from point of V to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, decreasing 1 st before and after the center st at point of V, every row for 7 rows. Bind off decreasing as described above. Sew shoulder seams.

ARMHOLE BANDS: With No. 2 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 134 sts from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off.

Sew underarm seams.
