Sleeveless Pullover Pattern

1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles
1 Pr. Standard No. 8 Needles

SCALE: 9 sts to 2 in.

Jack Frost Knitting Worsted—2 4-oz. Skeins

BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on 71 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 8 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 81 sts. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1 (right side)—K 1, * P 3, K 1; repeat from * across row.
Row 2—* P 2, K 2; repeat from * across row ending P 1.
Row 3—K 1, * P 1, K 3; repeat from * across row.
Row 4—Purl. Repeat above 4 rows until piece measures 10½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows for underarm. Work even until piece measures 8 in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Bind off 6 sts at begin­ning of each of next 6 rows. Change to No. 4 Needles increas­ing to 21 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 5 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work same as given for back until piece measures 10½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each next 6 rows for underarm. Work over 28 sts; place on st-holder. K the next 2 sts tog., work across row. Keeping armhole edge even, decrease 1 st at neck edge every 4th row 10 times. Work even until piece measures 8 in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 6 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 57 sts from shoulder to point of V, 1 st at point of V, 57 sts from point of  V to right shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 5 rows, decreasing 1 st at each side of st at point of V on every row. Bind off, decreasing as given above.

Sew shoulder seams.

ARMHOLE BANDS: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 121 sts from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 5 rows. Bind off.

Sew underarm seams.
