Requirements:
5 oz. Lt. Wt. Knitting Worsted (body color)
1 part skein of contrasting color
Size 5 Aluminum Knitting Needles

Gauge: 5 sts to 1 inch. 8 rows to 1 inch.

Starting at the bottom of the right front: Cast on 6 sts, turn and knit 1, purl 1 across row. Continue in knit 1, purl 1 and increase 1 st at the beginning and end of each row until there are 50 sts on needles. Cast on 12 sts for front. Keep front straight and continue to cast on 1 st at the beginning and end of each row until there are 66 sts. Then cast on 30 for side. Knit straight up for 11½ inches. Cast off 28 sts at neck edge and then cast off 4 sts at the beginning of each row at neck edge until there are 16 sts left. Continue on the 16 sts for 7 inches. Cast off.

Make left front the same.

Make 2 strips of knit 1, purl 1, 6 inches long for belt.

Single crochet around both fronts with contrasting color.

Sew together 2 inches from front and turn back for border.

Sew on 4 buttons.
