SIZE 14 to 16

MATERIALS:
1 Pr. Champion Standard Knitting Needles #10
1 Bone Crochet Hook #6
3-4 oz. pull skeins, Jack Frost Wintuk Knitting Worsted Type

Scale — 4 sts. to 1 inch.

BACK:

Cast on 65 sts. work in pattern as follows:

Row 1 — K2 tog. * yarn over, K1, yarn over, K2 tog. K2 tog. repeat from * ending K2 tog.

Row 2 — Purl.

Repeat these 2 rows for pattern. Work to underarm 16 inches. Bind off 5 sts. each side, then K2 tog. each side every other row 5 times. Work even until armhole measures 8 inches. Bind off 5 sts. at the beginning of each row 3 times each side. Bind off.

RIGHT FRONT:

Cast on 35 sts. work in pattern to underarm the same as back. Bind off 5 sts. at armhole side, start decreasing at neck edge every 4th row 10 times, at the same time K2 tog. at armhole side every other row 5 times. Work until armhole measures the same as back. Bind off 5 sts. from shoulder edge every other row 3 times.

LEFT FRONT:

Work the same as right front, reverse shaping.

FINISHING:

Sew shoulders and sides. Start at lower edge of right front, work 2 rows of single crochet around vest, work 1 row of single crochet around armholes. Crochet a chain 24 inches long for tie.

Block with a damp cloth.
