MATERIALS-Sultana Beauty-Glo, 7 (7-8) balls.
Aluminum Knitting Needles, 1 pair Size 1.
Steel Crochet Hook, Size 4.

MEASUREMENTS OF GARMENT-At bust line 34 (37-39 ½) ins.

GAUGE: 9 sts=1 inch 12 rows=1 inch

FRONT-Cast on 120 (124-128) sts. Work k 2, p 2 ribbing for 3 ½ ins.

Inc. row-Continuing ribbing, inc. 20 (28-36) sts evenly spaced across row; 140 (152-164) sts.

Pattern-Row 1-P. Row 2-right side-P 8, * k 4, p 8; repeat from * to end.

Row 3-K 8, * p 4, k 8; repeat from * to end.

Row 4-Same as row 2.

Row 5-Same as row 3. Row 6-Same as row 2.

Row 7-P. Row 8-P 2, * k 4, p 8; repeat from *, end k 4, p 2.

Row 9-K 2, * p 4, k 8; repeat from *, end p 4, k 2.

Row 10-Same as row 8.

Row 11-Same as row 9.

Row 12-Same as row 8.

Repeat these 12 rows for pat., increasing 1 st each side of next row and repeating incs. every 12th row 6 times more, with care to carry out pat. on added sts; 154 (166-178) sts. Work even until 8 ½ ins. above ribbing, end with pat. row 6.

SLEEVES-Cast on 17 sts at beg. of each of next 2 rows for sleeves, working these 2 rows same as row 7 and 8 of pat.; 188 (200-212) sts. Work even until sleeves measure 5 ½ ins. from cast-on sts, end with pat. row 12.

Neck Shaping-P 71 (76-81) sts and place on holder for right half of front, bind off 46 (48-50) sts, p to end. Work pat. even on 71 (76-81) sts of left front until 7 ½ ins. from cast-on sts, end with pat. row 12. Place marker for center of sleeve.

LEFT HALF OF BACK-Cast on 23 (24-25) sts at beg. of next row for back of neck; 94 (100-106) sts. Work pat. even for 5 ins., end with pat. row 12. Place on holder. Break off.

Beg. at neck edge, work 71 (76-81) sts of right half of front for 2 ins., end with pat. row 1, drop yarn.

On spare needle, with separate strand, cast on 23 (24-25) sts for back of neck, break off; p these sts to same needle with sts of right half. Continue working 94 (100-106) sts to correspond to left side, end with pat. row 12; do not break off. On next row, p sts of right half and left half to same needle; 188 (200-212) sts, Work even until sleeve edge measures 7 ½ ins. from marker, end with pat. row 6. Bind off 17 sts at beg. of each of next 2 rows; 154 (166-178) sts, Work even for 16 more rows with care to keep pat., end with pat. row 12. Dec. 1 st each side of next row; repeat decs, every 12th row 6 times more; 140 (152-164) sts. Work 11 more rows, end with pat. row 12. P next row, decreasing 20 (28-36) sts evenly spaced across row; 120 (124-128) sts. Work ribbing as on front. Bind off in ribbing.

FINISHING-Sew underarm seams. From right side, work 2 rows sc around sleeve edges. Work 1 row sc around neck and back opening, holding neck in to desired size. Work 2nd row sc working 3 button loops evenly spaced on right edge of back opening. Steam.
