MATERIAL:
9 balls Angora (45 yards a ball) or 2 skeins knitting worsted (3¾ oz. skein)
1 pair S.P. knitting needles No. 6 (4½ mm.)
1 bone crochet hook No. 4
1 small button

GAUGE: 5 sts. = 1 inch

BACK: Cast on 72 sts. with No. 6 needles and work stock. st. for 6½ inch. or any desired length to underarm. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next 2 rows 4 sts., at the beg. of the next 2 rows 2 sts. Decr. 1 st. at the beg, of the next 2 rows. (58 sts. left). Work even for 5½ inch. from the first binding off. Bind off for shoulders at the beg. of the next 6 rows 6 sts., rem. 22 sts. bind off for neck.

FRONT: Cast on 28 sts. with No. 6 needles and work stock. st., casting on 2 sts. at front edge every other row 3 times, then cast on 1 st. at same edge every other row twice (36 sts.) Work even until entire piece measures like back. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next row at seam edge 5 sts. and at the beg. of the next row at seam, edge 2 sts. (29 sts. left). Work even for 3¾ inch. from the first bind­ing off. Bind off for neck 7 sts. at center edge and then always 2 sts. at center edge every other row until 18 sts. are left over. Work as high as back and bind off at armhole edge 6 sts. 3 times for shoulder. Work other front to correspond.

SLEEVE: Cast on 40 sts. with No. 6 needles and work stock. st. for ¾ inch. Increase 1 st. at the beg. and at the end of every other row until 48 sts. on needle. Work even until the entire sleeve measures 3 inch. Bind off at the beg. of the next 2 rows 3 sts. Dec. 1 st. at the beg. of each row until 38 sts. are left. Work even for 2¼ inch. Bind off 2 sts. at the beg. of each row until 18 sts. are left over. Bind off. Work the other sleeve to correspond.

FINISHING: Sew up side, sleeve and shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves holding in extra fullness on top. Starting at left edge of neck, crochet 1 row s.c. around entire bolero. Fasten off. Crochet 1 row s.c. around each sleeve. Work 3 rows s.c. (54 sts.) around neck, making a loop (ch 2, skip 2) in 2nd row for buttonhole. Steam lightly and sew on button.
