MATERIAL:
3 (3-4) skeins Knitting Worsted (4 oz. skein) or
5 (6-7) skeins Orion Sayelle (2 oz. skein)
1 pair knitting needles each No. 5 and No. 7 or any size needles which will give stitch gauge given below
1 crochet hook size 6 or G
5 (6-6) buttons
Grosgrain ribbon for belt lining

GAUGE: 5 sts. = 1 inch

BACK:
   With No. 5 needles cast on 82 (84-90) sts. and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1½ inch. (all sizes). Incr. 4 sts. (all sizes) at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 7 needles and stock. st. With 86 (88-94) sts. work even until the entire piece measures 14 (14½-15) inch. or any des. length to underarm. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next 2 rows 6 (7-8) sts., at the beg. of the next 4 rows 2 sts. (all sizes). Decr. 1 st. at each end of every other row until 60 (64-68) sts. are left. Work even for 7½ (8-8½) inch. from the first binding off. Bind off for shoulders at the beg. of the next 6 (4-4) rows 6 (10-11) sts., rem. 24 sts. (all sizes) bind off for neck.

LEFT FRONT:
   With No. 5 needles cast on 82 (84-90) sts. and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 1½ inch. (all sizes), keeping the 6 center front sts. in ribbing for border throughout the entire front. Incr. 2 sts. (all sizes) at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 7 needles and stock. st. With 51 (53-55) sts. work even until the entire piece measures 1 inch less than back to underarm. Decr. for neck 1 st. at center edge inside the 7 border sts. every 3rd row and at the same time when front measures like back to underarm bind off at armhole edge at the beg. of next row 6 (7-8) sts., and at the beg. of the next 2 rows at same edge 2 sts. Decr. 1 st. at armhole edge every other row twice (all sizes). Still cont. to decr. for neck as before until 18 (20-22) sts. and 7 border sts. are left over. Work as high as back and bind off for shoulder at armhole edge 6 (10-11) sts. 3 (2-2) times. Rem. 7 border sts. work even in ribbing K1, P1 for 2 inch. Bind off.

RIGHT FRONT:
   Work as Left Front reversing all shapings. Work 5 (6-6) buttonholes evenly spaced apart in front border, placing first buttonhole ½ inch from beg. and last one 2 rows below V neck shaping. (To make a buttonhole: K1, P1, bind off next 3 sts., P1, knit to end of row. On next row cast on 3 sts. over the 3 bound off sts. of previous row.)

POCKETS: (make 2)
   With No. 7 needles cast on 20 (22-24) sts. and work in stock. st. for 4 (4½-4½) inch. Incr. 1 st. at each end of last row. Change to ribbing K1, P1 for 1½ inch. Bind off loosely K as K and P as P.

BELT:
   With No. 7 needles cast on 7 sts. and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 36 (38-40) inch. Bind off loosely K as K and P as P.

FINISHING:
   Sew up shoulder seams. Sew neckbands together and sew to back of neck. Armband: Right side facing you pick up with No. 5 needles 72 (76-80) sts. around the armhole and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 6 rows. Bind off loosely K as K and P as P. Sew up side seams. Turn ribbed part of pockets to outside, thus forming a flap. Sew pockets in place as shown in picture. Work 1 row of s.c. along outer edges of belt and line belt with gros­grain ribbon. Slip belt through pocket flaps. Sew buttons in place and block to size.
