Robin Blue4 2-oz. Balls, White1 2-oz. Ball
BACK: With No. 1 Needles and Robin Blue cast on 93 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles and White. P 1 row increasing to 116 sts, work in pattern as follows: Row 1 (right side)K 1, P 2, K 1, P 2, K 8, * P 2, K 1, P 2, K 1, P 2, K 8, repeat from * across row ending P 2, K 1, P 2, K 1. Row 2 P 1, K 2, P 1, K 2, P 8, * K 2, P 1, K 2, P 1, K 2, P 8, repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 1, K 2, P 1. Repeat above 2 rows once, then change to Robin Blue and continue pattern for 2 rows. Change to White and continue pattern for 4 rows, working a cable twist over the ribs of K 8, on the 7th and every 12th row thereafter to shoulder as follows: slip the first 4 sts to a double pointed needle, hold in back of work. K the next 4 sts, then bring the 4 slipped sts forward and K them. After the last 4 rows of White have been completed, change to Robin Blue and continue pattern until piece measures 11 in. from lower edge. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 6 ½ in. from underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows. Change to No. 1 Needles decreasing to 41 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.
FRONT: Work same as back until all sts have been decreased for underarm. On right side of garment, work over 45 sts. Place on st- holder. On remaining 45 sts, keeping armhole edge even, decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 10 times, then every 3rd row 11 times. Work even until piece measures 6 ½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.
FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 1 Needles and Robin Blue, on right side of garment, pick up 58 sts from shoulder to point of V, 1 st at point of V, 58 sts from point of V to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, decreasing 1 st at each side of st at point of V on every row for 7 rows. Bind off decreasing as described above. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.
SLEEVES: With No. 1 Needles and Robin Blue cast on 52 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles and White, and work in pattern as on back increasing 1 st at each end every 6th row to 94 sts, working stripes at lower edge of sleeve to match stripes at lower edge of back. When piece measures 17 ½ in. from lower edge, bind off 9 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times; then bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row to 24 sts. Bind off.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
