SCALE: 7 sts to 1 in.

3 1-oz. Balls Corn
Jack Frost Fingering Fleece- 4 1-oz. Balls Green

BACK: With No. 2 Needles and Green, cast on 98 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. P 1 row increasing to 120 sts at even intervals across row. Change to No. 4 Needles and work in stockinette st striped pattern as follows: * 4 rows Corn, 3 rows Green, 2 rows Corn, 3 rows Green; repeat from * until piece measures 12½ in. from lower edge. Continuing pattern, bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 7 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoul­ders. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 2 in. from underarm. Work over 46 sts; place on st-holder. Work even on remaining 46 sts, until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Keeping armhole edge even, bind off 12 sts at neck edge once, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 6 times. Work even until niece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles and Green, cast on 80 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 1½ in. Change to No. 4 Needles and work in striped pattern until piece measures 4½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease. 1 st at each end every other row 7 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 20 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.

COLLAR: With No. 2 Needles and Green, on right side of garment, pick up 120 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 8 rows. Change to No. 4 Needles and continue ribbing until collar measures 1¾ in. Bind off.

FINISHING: With No. 2 Steel crochet hook and Green, work 1 row of s c around front opening and front edge of collar, working loops for buttonholes on right side.
