SCALE: 5½ sts to 1 in.

Jack Frost Featherweight Floss 2 Fold—6 1-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on Sl sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 92 sts at even intervals across row. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 12 in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for under­arm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 4 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 31 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: With No. 4 Needles cast on 81 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 94 sts at even intervals across row. Work as follows:
Row 1—K 10, * P 2, K 4; repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 10.
Row 2—P 10, * K 2, P 4; repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 10.
Repeat above 2 rows until piece measures 9 in. from lower edge, then start graduating the ribbed front as follows (right side): K 16, * P 2, K 4; repeat from * across row ending P 2, K 16. Work in pattern having 16 sts worked in stockinette st on each side of the ribbing for 1 in., then work 22 sts in stockinette st on each side of the ribbing for 1 in. Continue adding 6 sts to the stockinette sts on each side, every inch, until there are only 3 ribs of P 2, and 2 ribs of K 4, in the center. Work in rib pattern over these 14 sts, working stocki­nette st over remaining sts for 1 in., then work all sts in stockinette st to shoulder edge. When piece measures 12 in. from lower edge, bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 4½ in. from underarm. Work over 27 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 16 sts for front of neck. On remaining 27 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 3 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 6 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 69 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: Work as given for Classic Pullover Pattern.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
