SCALE: 5½ sts to 1 in.

Jack Frost Sport Yarn—4 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on 81 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 8 Needles increasing to 96 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as fol­lows:

Row 1 and all uneven rows Knit.
Row 2—* K 4, P 4; repeat from * across row.
Row 4—* K 3, P 5; repeat from * across row.
Row 6—* K 2, P 6; repeat from * across row.
Row 8—* K 1, P 7; repeat from * across row.
Row 10—* P 4, K 4; repeat from * across row.
Row 12—P 4, * K 3, P 5; repeat from * across row ending K 3, P 1.
Row 14—P 4, * K 2, P 6; repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 2.
Row 16—P 4, * K 1, P 7; repeat from * across row ending K 1, P 3. Repeat above 16 rows until piece measures 11½ in. from lower edge. Cast on 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for sleeves. Work even until piece measures 7 in. from cast on sts at underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 10 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 4 Needles and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work same as given for back until piece measures 5 in. from cast on sts at underarm, then work over 45 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 22 sts for front of neck. On remaining 45 sts, work 2 rows even; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 7 in. from cast on sts at underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 5 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 69 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder seams.

ARMHOLE BANDS: With No. 4 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 105 sts from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Bind off. Sew underarm seams.
