1 Pr. Standard No. 1 Needles14 in.

Gold Medal Fingering Yarn (A Jack Frost Product)5 1-oz. Skeins
BACK: With No. 1 Needles cast on 100 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 2 ½ in. Change to No. 3 Needles increasing to 112 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as follows: Row 1 (right side) † K 3, * inserting needle from front as in plain knitting, K the 2nd st on left hand needle, then K the first, drop both sts from needle *; repeat between *'s once, repeat from † across row. Row 2 and all even rowsPurl. Row 3K 2, † repeat between *'s in first row twice, K 3, repeat from † across row ending last repeat K 1. Row 5K 1, † repeat between *'s in first row twice, K 3, repeat from † across row ending last repeat K 2. Row 7†, repeat between *'s in first row twice, K 3, repeat from † across row. Row 8Purl. The above 8 rows form pattern. Repeat them until piece measures 9 ½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 7 times. Work even until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows. Change to No. 1 Needles, increasing to 38 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off.
FRONT: Work same as back until piece measures 3 ¾ in. from underarm. Then work as follows: work over 29 sts, place on st-holder. Bind off next 26 sts for front of neck. On remaining 29 sts work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 5 in. from underarm. Bind off 6 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.
FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 1 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 74 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder and underarm seams.
SLEEVES: With No. 1 Needles cast on 46 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3 in. Change to No. 3 Needles, increasing to 63 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern increasing 1 st at each end on the 11th and every 8th row thereafter to 79 sts. Work even until piece measures 15 ½ in. or desired length to underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 7 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row to 27 sts. Bind off.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
