Jack Frost Featherweight Zephyr 3 Fold4 1-oz. Balls
BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 86 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2 ½ in. Change to No. 3 Needles and work in pattern as follows: Row 1 (right side)* P 2, K 4, repeat from * across row ending P 2. Row 2* K 2, P 4, repeat from * ending K 2. Row 3 Repeat row 1. Row 4Repeat row 2. Row 5P 3, * K 2, P 4, repeat from * ending P 3. Row 6K 3, * P 2, K 4, repeat from * ending K 3. Row 7Repeat row 5. Row 8Repeat row 6. Row 9 Purl. Row 10Knit. Repeat above 10 rows once, then work even in stockinette st until piece measures 8 ½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 3 times. Work even until piece measures 3 in. from underarm, then work in pattern for 14 rows. Continuing pattern, bind off 4 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows. Bind off remaining 50 sts.
FRONTWork to correspond to back.
Sew shoulder seams, leaving about 1 in. free at neck edge for opening.
SLEEVES: With No. 3 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 24 sts across top of shoulder. Work back and forth in stockinette st picking up 5 sts at end of each row until 74 sts have been picked up from end to end of armhole. Work in stockinette st for 10 rows. Continuing stockinette st, decrease 1 st at each end of next row and every 6th row thereafter to 56 sts. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 7 in. from underarm, then work in pattern for 20 rows. Change to No. 2 Needles decreasing to 48 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2 in. Bind off. Sew underarm seams.
Work a loop for buttonhole on each shoulder opening at front edge.
