Size 8 to 10 yr. Scale: 6 ½ sts to 1 in.
1 Pr. Standard No. 2 Needles14 in.
1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles14 in.
Jack Frost Imported Fleece5 1-oz. Balls
BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 82 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 2 ½ in. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 92 sts at even intervals across row. Work even in stockinette st until piece measures 10 in. from lower edge. Bind off 5 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Work even until piece measures 5 ½ in. from underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows. Change to No. 2 Needles increasing to 38 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off.
FRONT: Work same as back until piece measures 3 ½ in. from bound off sts at underarm, then work as follows: work over 29 sts, place on st-holder. Bind off next 24 sts for front of neck. On remaining 29 sts, keeping armhole edge even, decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 5 ½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.
FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 66 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 7 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder seams.
SLEEVES: With No. 4 Needles, on right side of garment, pick up 78 sts from end to end of armhole. Work 10 rows even, then decrease 1 st at each end of the next row and every 8th row thereafter to 54 sts. Work even until piece measures 11 ½ in. from underarm, or desired length. Change to No. 2 Needles decreasing to 44 sts at even intervals across row. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 2 ½ in. Bind off.
Sew underarm and sleeve seams.
