1 Size 9 Bone Crochet Hook
Jack Frost Willow Yarn—7 2-oz. Skeins

BACK: Cast on 34 sts. Work in stockinette st for 3 in. Increase 1 st at each end of the next row and every 2 in. thereafter to 40 sts. Work even until piece measures 10 in. from lower edge. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Work even until piece measures 6 in. from lower edge. Bind off 3 sts at beginning of each of next 4 rows, then 4 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

RIGHT FRONT: Cast on 25 sts. Work as follows: Row 1—K 1, P 1, over the first 10 sts, K 4, P 1, K 1, over remaining 11 sts. Row 2—P 1, K 1, over first 11 sts, P 4, K 1, P 1, over remaining 10 sts. Continue in pattern working a cable twist on the 5th row, over the rib of K 4, as follows: slip the first 2 sts onto the hooked end of the crochet hook, hold in back of work. K the next 2 sts, then bring the 2 sts which were slipped onto the crochet hook, forward, and K them. Repeat cable twists every 6th row to neck edge. When piece measures 3 in. from lower edge, keeping front edge even, increase 1 st at underarm edge on next row and every 2 in. thereafter to 28 sts. Work even until piece measures 10 in. from lower edge. Bind off 4 sts at underarm edge once; decrease 1 st at underarm edge every row 3 times. Work even until piece measures 4 ½ in. from underarm. Keeping armhole edge even, bind off 4 sts at neck edge once; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 3 times. Work even until piece measures 6 in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 4 sts once, then 5 sts every other row 2 times. Work other side to correspond.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: Cast on 22 sts. Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st at each end on the 9th row and every 10th row thereafter to 32 sts. Work even until piece measures 16 ½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every row 2 times. Work 8 rows even then bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row to 6 sts. Bind off. Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.

CROCHET BAND: Starting at lower edge of right front work 32 s c to neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, 31 s c around neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, 32 s c down left front edge, ch 1, turn, work 1 row s c to neck edge st for st, 3 s c in corner st, 1 row s c around neck edge, 3 s c in corner st, * ch 2, skip 1 st, work 1 s c in each of next 4 sts, repeat from * 6 times, working 1 s c in each of remaining sts. Fasten off.
